About Us
We are London-based Syrian hamster breeders. Hamsterdam is affiliated to the National Hamster Council and a member of the Southern Hamster Club. We're one of the few small hamsteries in Central London, and have regular beautiful litters of long-haired hamsters, in all kinds of colours.
We are hobby breeders with only a small number of hamsters, so our animals are handled daily from the moment their eyes open. Much emphasis is put on hand taming the hamsters to make them happy and enjoyable pets. As a result they're very well-tempered little animals, well used to human contact and considerably tamer than those you'll find in a pet shop.
When you visit our hamstery you'll be able to meet each baby's parents, so you can see the good stock that your new pet comes from.
These are household pets, brought up in a household, so we spend time with each little baby before they leave for their new home.
At Hamsterdam we aim to rehome our hamsters at between 4 and 6 weeks of age, when hamsters are fully weaned and ready to live on their own.
With your new hamster, you'll receive a birth certificate, along with a small booklet outlining the food your hammie likes to eat and also some grooming suggestions.
We can also provide you with a bespoke home for your hamster, complete with wheel, nesting area, bedding, water bottle, and a little food to get you started. Just ask for more details.
